EXCITING ADDITION TO THE SERIES!

THE TORCHING (Olivia Callahan Suspense Book #3) by Kerry Peresta is a suspense filled P.I. mystery featuring Olivia Callahan who is three years out from a traumatic brain injury. This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone book.
Arson, political corruption, family secrets, obsession and murder all come together in this mystery.
I enjoyed the continuing evolution of Oliva, both personally and professionally. I feel all the characters are fully fleshed and believable, but I have read the previous two books and it does make it slightly easier to keep track of all the family and friends. I am a dog lover and love the addition of Marlowe, Olivia’s rescue dog. There are several mysteries all intertwined with surprising plot twists and gripping suspense.
This is an engaging addition to the series, and I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes Olivia next!

Loved, The Deadening, from author, Kerry Peresta. It was very suspenseful, well-written, with wonderful character development. The story pulled me in from the first page and kept my interest all the way through to the pulse-pounding conclusion.    -Amazon Reviewer

Not what I expected but so much better!

Not having read the first two books in the series, really did not seem to matter as this book was very good. So good I have to go get the first two so they can fill in the questions I have. There was a great deal going on in this book, Olivia still recovering from a TBI, Hunter, her hopefully someday lover, not liking the promotion he got, but still madly in love with Olivia. The number of fires and seemingly lack of ability to crack the cases. Tom, who was father, like to Olivia in guiding her in the PI business and giving it to her when he passed. Olivia's last kiddo going off to college and Olivia's mom struggling with telling Olivia about who she thinks is her father. The man who almost killed her mom and would have killed Olivia as a baby and could care less if she were alive or not. This was a really good book and worth the time. This book is definitely one of those books you can’t get out of your head. Keeps you up late at night to read just “one more” page. I tell you what it’s not very often that I finish a book and can’t get another started right away because the book that was finished is stilling in my head. The storyline feels real, not so far fetch that it’s not believable. I’ve been to Hilton Head Island before and so it feels more real to me. It’s a page turner, hold your breath and say to yourself “C’mon Olivia” you will not regret reading this book, or the first one. Good job Kerry. I really enjoyed the little quotes with every chapter too, each one pertained to the events of the book I felt like. It was all around a great book and story line!
